One of the clssic theological distinctions of liturgy and ministry reads in Latin: Lex Orandi – Lex Credendi – Lex Agendi.
It means, the law of prayer lea ads to the law of belief which leads to the law of action. In other words, there is a progression from prayer to belief to ministry. A parish is like an oak tree. The trunk of the tree is the liturgy and all of the official times of worship and prayer.
The branches that stretch out from the trunk are the ministries; things like the Knights of Columbus, the Women’s Ministry, and our Youth Ministry, naming just a few. If the trunk is unhealthy or even damaged the ministries won’t thrive. They cannot exist on their own. They need the trunk in order to grow themselves.
This is how Christ the King understands Ministry. We seek to worship God worthily and because this worship is profound and meaningful, our most authentic progression out of Mass will be healthy and effective ministries.
Pope Francis recently said "The liturgy is God's time and space, and we must put ourselves there in God's time, in God's space, without looking at our watches. The liturgy is precisely entering into the mystery of God; bringing ourselves to the mystery and being present in the mystery."
