Responsibilities: Work with a team of parent volunteers to build, develop, and coordinate ministries to youth in grades 6 - 12. This position will oversee weekly high school programming and will include some ministry to middle school students.
Background: Christ the King is a parish of 1,500 families located in Belton, Texas. Our parish, as part of the Archdiocese of Austin, is composed of a broad mix of socioeconomic levels. The area has grown greatly in the past decade and our youth ministry has been enthusiastically developed to accommodate growth. We see anywhere from 40-80 high school students and middle school students at our weekly youth group meetings using the Life-Teen and Edge programs. We have a core team of 10 adults and high school students. The program is not just for the students, but with the help of the core team, it is for the benefit of the parents and families as well. We want someone who can work with a team to creatively and energetically grow a relational youth ministry program, form intentional disciples, and present the faith in a way that is innovative, dynamic, orthodox, and relevant to young people.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Youth Ministry, Theology, Catechetics, or Religious Education preferred, or commensurate experience. Candidate must be an active Catholic in good standing who can use their energy, joy, humor, charisma, and creative problem-solving skills to manage multiple projects. This position reports to the Director of Faith and Formation.
