One of the clssic theological distinctions of liturgy and ministry reads in Latin: Lex Orandi – Lex Credendi – Lex Agendi.
The branches that stretch out from the trunk are the ministries; things like the Knights of Columbus, the Women’s Ministry, and our Youth Ministries, naming just a few. If the trunk is unhealthy or even damaged the ministries won’t thrive. They cannot exist on their own. They need the trunk in order to grow themselves.
This is how Christ the King understands Ministry. We seek to worship God worthily and because this worship is profound and meaningful, our most authentic progression out of Mass will be healthy and effective ministries.
Pope Francis recently says:
"The liturgy is God's time and space, and we must put ourselves there in God's time, in God's space, without looking at our watches. The liturgy is precisely entering into the mystery of God; bringing ourselves to the mystery and being present in the mystery."
